Came across this file sharing software on the Brisbane Blog and thought I'd better try it out. Clearly it has heaps of potential for recording stories as podcasting them.

Final edits completed.

Saturday afternoon and all of the movies are all finished. It was great to be able to play them through on my laptop. The energy of them is wonderful - a bit like the whole week.

On Friday night Karen and I went to the theatre at Metro Arts. Written by Niz Jabour, a poet and actor from Iraq, it was about Iraq and refugees and how we think and feel about refugees in Australia.

As wonderful and creative as it was with sound and movement, speech and song, props and multimedia, it couldn't possibly reach the energy or the creativity of our amazing digital story creators at Woodridge throughout the week.

My job now is to save the movies as AVI's so they can be submitted to the State Library for uploading to the Qld Stories site and compiled into a DVD for the launch in a few weeks.

Tambwe's great t-shirt

Hello. My name is Tambwe. I come from Congo. I am 15 years old.

When I was 10 years old my favorite sport was soccer. I came to Australia in July in 2005.

My favorite object is my t-shirt. It has a picture of a motor bike. The bike is white and the t-shirt is brown.

I feel good when I wear it. It is like speeding across a soccer field.

When he gave me the mobile phone I was very happy. I like Kado. He is a good friend.

Birthday Gift

Hey my name is James, I’m 14 years old I came from Congo.

Now I live in Logan Australia with my family.

I love to cut my hair using a pair of clippers which my uncle Kisosi brought for me. He brought it for me when it was my birthday I like it very much.

When I finish cutting my hair I feel very good and I feel like loving my uncle much more.

If I am cutting my hair I remember my country and my friend who used to cut my hair. I miss him very much. He used to be a nice boy. His name is Job. He’s 14 years old. His father is a pilot in Uganda.

Thank you.

Haidar's chain

Hi my name is Haidar and to day I am going to talk about my chain.

My chain was given to me by my cousin from overseas.

My cousin is a goldsmith and he makes jewellery for a living. Three years ago he made me a silver chain for my birthday along with a medallion.

The medallion is made in the shape of Iraq which is where I come from.

Me and my cousin are very close even though I have not seen him since I was a baby.

We keep in contact by internet and phone.

Haidar.

The day i fell off my bike

My name is Adam. One day when I was sleeping I heard my brother saying that he had bought a bike.

When I first hopped on it I went down the street and I saw a car coming in front of me and I fell down and broke my leg and my arm. Everyone was laughing at me.

I had to go to the hospital and I had to get some needles. But now I can ride it well and I will never fall down again.

but i feel really sad today because somebody stole four bikes from under our house. If someone sees them call Judd at MultiLink 38o8 4463.

You can visit one of my favourite places on the internet here.

Kibangula's jacket

Hey my name is Kibangula and I come from Congo but now I live in Woodridge with my family.

When I came to Australia I was 12 years old and I was very cold because I didn’t have many warm clothes. Then my brother bought this jacket for me.

It is a black jacket and I really like the red and white stripes and the pockets where I keep my money and my hands when it is cold.

When I wear it I feel very good and cool.

A Heart Shaped Present

Hey my name is Regina, I’m 15 years old and I came from Sudan.

Now I live in Australia with my family and cousin. I love to wear this necklace that my father gave to me as my birthday present when he came back from Africa.

It is heart shaped and has little blue diamond dots. This necklace means a lot to me because my dad brought it for me in Africa as my birthday gift.

It makes me feel really happy or to remember my dad if he goes somewhere far away. That is why it means a lot to me.

Thank you.
